Charlotte Lorraine Wells, 72, is now resting peacefully with angels. After a long struggle with COPD and subsequent health problems, Char’s pain and suffering finally came to an end at 12:00 a.m. on March 15, 2016. She was born on December 14, 1943 to Thomas and Anna Nation Hazlett in Mt. Vernon, Indiana.

She is now with her “Mother” and “Daddy” in heaven! She leaves behind her son Tom (Deena) LaJoie of Boise, ID, and her daughters Lorraine LaJoie of Belvidere, IL, Lisa (Lynne Wheelock) LaJoie of St. Croix USVI & Patti (Tom) Crawford of Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Sabrina Skoglund, Samantha Raczkowski , Christopher, Andrew, Ryan, Alyssa & Hailey LaJoie, Brian & Hunter Winslow, Alex Crawford & Nichole Wheelock. Char also leaves behind 4 great grandchildren, Hayden & Genevieve Skoglund, Carson Winslow, & Leeland Everett. She precedes all her siblings Jimmy, Forrest Ray & Lee Hazlett, Kay Henderson and Joe Hardesty.

Char’s wish is to return to her island home of St. Croix. We will be planning a celebration of life on St. Croix at a time in the near future when all her children will be able to attend.

A memorial service will be held in Mt. Vernon, Indiana date to be determined. Memorials may be sent to Harry W. Moore Chapel 8151 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46250.
